The story here
Coffee arrived with European settlers in the 19th century, but it was the Boquete highlands that transformed Panama's reputation. The 2004 Best of Panama competition introduced the world to Geisha — a delicate varietal that went on to break global auction records and put this small country on the specialty map almost overnight.
